Career pathways are having their heyday in the
federal policy spotlight, so it's time to connect to ensure we're ready to
advance adult career pathways as part of the implementation of the new
Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA).
Join the Pathways to Careers Network on
December 10th for a 1-hour webinar that will bring together education and
workforce development partners to discuss how we ensure adult learners can
develop the skills they need to access college and careers in the context of
WIOA.
We will hear from Jennifer K. Foster, the
Associate Vice President for Adult Education and Workforce Development at the
Illinois Community College Board. Jennifer will provide background on adult
career pathways in Illinois, and she will offer her insights on the challenges
and opportunities afforded by WIOA.
Judy Mortrude, the Director of the Alliance for Quality Career
Pathways at the Center for Law and Social Policy will
discuss how the AQCP framework can help Illinois strengthen our career
pathways system and support the implementation of WIOA.
We look forward to our conversation with you
on December 10th!
