The Transitions Academy is designed to assist colleges and partnerships working on developing Bridge and ICAPS (Integrated Career and Academic Preparation System) programs by increasing awareness of the expanding partnership between Adult Education and Career and Technical Education as it relates to the ICAPS model, Accelerating Opportunity, Illinois Bridge programs, and Illinois Programs of Study. As I continue to work with adults and support their workforce aspirations I recently added mor programming to the curriculum. The Essential Employability Framework supports learners with the knowledge for identifying which skills are important in the work environment. The framework provides a method for aligning objectives to skills. The issues that we are addressing is scheduling and filtering. There are career certificate programs that conclude rapidly, therefore, it is difficult to assist in the training and exercise scenarios to foster the development of the skills in learners.
